Real Estate Council Welcomes Appointment of New Chair

Vancouver, September 17, 2018 – The Real Estate Council of BC (RECBC) welcomes the recent government announcement appointing Elain Duvall as the new chair of the Real Estate Council of BC.

Elain Duvall brings a wealth of experience to the role with 10 years as executive director of the Columbia Housing Advisory Association, several years at the Housing Centre at the City of Vancouver, and six years as a development manager for Progressive Homes Ltd. She is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors and has extensive governance experience, including 12 years on the Vancity Credit Union Board (three as chair) and nine years as governor of the Real Estate Foundation.

The board and staff of RECBC look forward to working under Ms. Duvall’s leadership to achieve our vision: a province where real estate consumers have confidence in competent and ethical real estate professionals. In co-operation with the Office of the Superintendent of Real Estate and the Ministry of Finance, we will continue our work ensuring that B.C.’s real estate sector is trusted and effective.

RECBC thanks the outgoing chair, Robert Holmes Q.C., for his dedicated service over the past two years, and his commitment to protecting consumers through fair, effective and transparent regulation.

More information about Elain Duvall and the other members of the Real Estate Council is available on RECBC’s Council Members webpage.
