Summary
REAL ESTATE COUNCIL OF BRITISH COLUMBIA
In the matter of the Real Estate Services Act
S.B.C. 2004 ch. 42
NOTICE OF LICENSEE RESIGNATION
Peggy Pec Kin Wu, while licensed as a representative with Max Wright Real Estate Corporation dba Sotheby's International Realty Canada, Vancouver, requested the Real Estate Council of British Columbia to discontinue disciplinary proceedings against her as she had decided to permanently retire from real estate practice. Ms. Wu was facing a disciplinary hearing into her professional conduct and would have been required to appear before a hearing committee of the Real Estate Council to respond to these allegations.
The allegations were against Ms. Wu as a representative with the Brokerage in respect of real estate services provided by her to a client in the client's purchase of a strata property in which the client was provided inaccurate information concerning the parking stall assigned to the subject strata.
There has been no discipline hearing or finding of fact with respect to these allegations, and no admissions to these allegations by Ms. Wu.
Considering the fact that there is likely no greater disciplinary sanction than not being licensed again, the Real Estate Council agreed with Ms. Wu's request. The lifetime ban on Ms. Wu's licensing under the Real Estate Services Act was effective as of December 14, 2012, although she surrendered her licence to the Real Estate Council on October 16, 2012.
