Summary
Andy Chi Chor Wong conducted a home inspection for a prospective buyer of a property. By doing so, Mr. Wong was providing trading services to the buyer.
Mr. Wong provided these trading services outside of his brokerage, did not inform his managing broker that he was providing these services, and accepted remuneration for the services outside of his brokerage. His actions contravened sections 7(3)(a) and 7(3)(b) of the Real Estate Services Act, and section 3-2(2)(a) of the Council Rules.
Results
A discipline committee of the Council has ordered the following:
- Mr. Wong's licence is suspended for 14 days, from August 24, 2016 to September 6, 2016 inclusive.
- At his own expense, Mr. Wong must complete the Real Estate Trading Services Remedial Education Course.
- Mr. Wong must pay enforcement expenses of $1,500.00 to the Council.
