Summary
Chiow Min Kuan, while licensed with RE/MAX Metro Realty, Vancouver, provided real estate services while he was under suspension. Mr. Kuan was suspended by the Real Estate Council of BC from August 28, 2013 until September 17, 2013 inclusive. On September 3, 2013, Mr. Kuan's name and contact information appeared on three listings on the brokerage's website. On September 14, 2013, Mr. Kuan showed a property to a client of the brokerage.
Mr. Kuan's actions contravened sections 35(1)(f), 20 and 21(a) of the Real Estate Services Act.
Results
A discipline committee of the Council has ordered the following:
- Chiow Min Kuan is suspended for sixty (60) days, from June 29, 2016 to August 27, 2016 inclusive.
- He may not provide services as an unlicensed assistant during his suspension.
- He must pay enforcement expenses of $1,250.00 to the Council.
