Summary
Jason Richard Stoesz neglected to include a clause in the Contract of Purchase and Sale for his buyer client to receive and approve information, or to obtain independent professional advice regarding whether GST was applicable in the purchase. By failing to act in the best interest of his buyer client and acting out of his own area of expertise, Mr. Stoesz contravened sections 3-3(a) and 3-3(d) of the Council Rules.
Results
A discipline committee of the Council has ordered the following:
- Jason Richard Stoesz is reprimanded.
- He must pay a discipline penalty of $2,500.00 to the Council.
- At his own expense, he must successfully complete the Real Estate Trading Services Remedial Education Course.
- He must pay enforcement expenses of $1,500.00 to the Council.
