Summary
REAL ESTATE COUNCIL OF BRITISH COLUMBIA
In the matter of the Real Estate Services Act
S.B.C. 2004 ch. 42
NOTICE OF PERMANENT SURRENDER OF LICENCE
Russell (Russ) Guy Crouse, while licensed as a managing broker with Salt Spring Realty Ltd. dba Royal LePage Salt Spring Realty, Salt Spring Island, and managing broker with Royal Property Management Ltd., Salt Spring Island, requested the Real Estate Council of British Columbia to discontinue its investigation against him as he had decided to permanently surrender his real estate licence.
The investigation against Mr. Crouse arose from an Accountant's Report filed by Mr. Crouse for Royal Property Management Ltd. on August 15, 2014 and whether trust funds were improperly transferred from the rental property management trust account of Royal Property Management Ltd. to the operating account of the brokerage to cover operating expenses.
There has been no discipline hearing or findings of fact with respect to these allegations, and no admissions to these allegations by Mr. Crouse.
Considering the fact that there is likely no greater disciplinary sanction than not being licensed to act again, the Real Estate Council agreed with Mr. Crouse's request. The lifetime ban on Mr. Crouse's licensing under the Real Estate Services Act was effective as of November 3, 2014, although he surrendered his licence to the Real Estate Council on October 16, 2014.
